Heel Catch
A heel catch is the same as a toe catch except using the heels to stop the rope when jumping backwards. This is usually performed at the end of a sequence or 'combo'. It's like the full stop in a sentence.

How?
Starting with the rope in-front you resting on your shins, pull it away from you and over your head. As the rope passes over your head, bring your hands back to pocket position and then wait as the rope falls behind your head and down toward the floor. Then, as the rope approaches your feet, lift your heels off the ground slightly, allowing the centre of the rope to catch under your heels to stop.
Why?
Like the toe catch, the heel catch is one of the most useful skills you can utilise when learning more new skills. It's especially helpful when learning backwards skills (compared to forwards skills) because it's even more difficult to judge where the rope is as it travels around you, since for most of the skill (including jumping the loop of the rope itself) the rope isn't in your field of vision.
