Are you a beginner? Deciding which rope is best for you depends entirely on your goals. My beaded ropes have been specially designed to enable beginners to learn faster with better technique from day one. Some skills may feel easier on a PVC rope, such as double unders, but making something easier to do and making something easier to learn are two different outcomes and, as a jump rope coach, I believe that making something easier to learn is more valuable to the learner in the longterm than making it easier to do in the moment.
What is thickened cord? We innovated and developed our signature thickened cord to provide a slightly heavier feel and more responsive design which aids in significantly accelerating progress. This is the cord you’ll see me use in all my combos, and it’s the cord all my client’s see the fastest progress with. Available in black and white.

It is important to note that no one rope is objectively better for a given set of skills. It is highly subjective and depends on the jumper’s goals, ability level and style. Any rope can be used for any type of skills. A proficient jumper should be aim to be able to use any rope to perform their skills, and I encourage all my clients to practice everything with both. Here’s an example.
Beaded ropes are often the first-choice for releases because of the extra control the rope offers.
PVC ropes are often the first-choice for double unders because of the extra speed the rope offers.
Nonetheless, quadruple unders are possible with my thickened cord beaded ropes and mic releases are possible with my 4mm PVC ropes.
If you’re unsure of which will be right for you, invest in both and decide for yourself. This will enable you to get the most out of your jump rope journey and explore the most!
